Caesarean Section
This is another option for mothers to give birth at Clínica Labrador. It is performed once the gynecologist recommends it if a regular childbirth puts both mother and child in risk.
This procedure permits the birth of a child by means of an abdominal incision.
The mother can be anesthetized completely. However, the patient is usually awake in the surgery, and her body is numbed just from her chest to her legs (epidural anesthesia).
An incision is done above the pubis area, and when the uterus is exposed, it is opened with another incision to release the amniotic liquid and take the baby out afterwards.
The majority of mothers and children recover very well with few minor problems.
Mothers are usually expected to stay in the hospital two or four days. The recovery process takes a little more time than a regular childbirth.
It is recommended that mothers walk from the very first day after the surgery to speed up the recovery process.
